How do we support shark research?
Without sharks, marine ecosystems would likely experience cascading imbalances, potentially leading to habitat degradation, loss of biodiversity, and weakened resilience of ocean ecosystems overall. This is why efforts to conserve and understand sharks are so crucial.
Vital to this understanding is furthering our knowledge of the ecology of prehistoric sharks, particularly during times of changing climate.
This is why a percentage of profits from the sale of every item from DDSharkTeeth will go to support ongoing or new research initiatives. This is facilitated through our Annual DDSharkTeeth Research Grant. Details of this grant and how researchers can apply will be advertised during Spring 2025.

Dr Daniel Moore
DDSharkTeeth is led by Dr Daniel Moore, who holds a PhD in evolutionary biology of marine vertebrates and teaches marine biology at the University of Exeter, UK.
Dr Moore is passionate about shark evolution and has been collecting fossil shark teeth for over two decades.
